Ms. King has over 20 years of experience in Louisiana housing programs, and nearly 15 years experience with the Kenner Housing Authority. In her Supervisory position, she is responsible for determining eligibility for both the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and the Project Based Voucher (PBV) Program.
Ms. King conducts interviews and advises applicants seeking admission, counsels tenants to ensure compliance with Tenant Occupancy Regulations, and issues vouchers to eligible applicants.
Additionally, Ms. King is responsible for processing new admissions, interim changes, and the yearly recertification process for eligible families/recipients, which includes conducting both criminal and employment background checks. Ms. King oversees landlord participation in the housing programs, which includes reviewing tenant leases, Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contract execution, and monitoring payments to landlords for accuracy and compliance.
She also facilitates compliance with all HUD reporting requirements, such as updating the Inventory Management System/PIH Information Center (IMS/PIC) and meeting the performance measures of the Section 8 Management Assessment Program (SEMAP).
