Solutient was recently awarded a three-year contract to provide transit planning & GIS, transit marketing, and grant management and administration services for the Jefferson Parish Department of Transit Administration (Jefferson Transit). In this role, Solutient’s Transit Services team is charged with assisting in the administration of Federal Transit Administration (FTA)-funded projects, management of FTA grant funds, and implementation of the Urbanized Area Formula Grant Program of Projects, as prescribed by the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission.

Some of Solutient’s specific responsibilities to the Jefferson Parish Department of Transit Administration include: assisting with planning for procurement and monitoring implementation of capital projects; oversight of the grant funding process from application, expenditure, draw down, and grant close-out; conducting analysis and qualitative evaluation of transit service delivery; periodic review and reporting of operational and financial performance measures; advising the Jefferson Parish Transit Director in complying with all applicable local, State and federal regulations; and providing technical guidance and expertise in the execution of State and federal grant applications and funding requests.

By providing guidance and oversight of the operating and administrative aspects of the Department of Transit Administration, Solutient’s role is vital to the continued success and sustainability of Jefferson Parish’s transit system. The duties assigned to and carried out by Solutient’s Transit Services team will reinforce the integrity of all public expenditures as required by the FTA, and furthermore will serve as a safeguard on all of the Department of Transit Administration’s contracted responsibilities to Jefferson Parish leadership as well as the Parish community.
