On 9/24/2009 FEMA has approved and awarded $11.9 million for Jefferson Parish to mitigate 74 homes. As we enter into the grant administration phase ready to assist the homeowners in bringing their mitigation projects into construction, we have a sense of satisfaction and pride in yet another successfully developed grant application. Moving forward we will work with our 74 homeowners and their contractors to guide them through the process of getting homes elevated in a timely manner and within grant guidelines.
