Community Development – Disaster Recovery

Solutient has invested over a decade in the management of disaster recovery programs ranging from home elevations, to home reconstructions, to the retro-fitting of public buildings, the oversight of drainage projects, and sophisticated planning studies relating to a) the development of alternative drainage flows, b) optimizing the application of low and moderate criteria to funding elevations, and c) integrating HUD and FEMA funds to create a critical mass for recovery.

Our disaster recovery practice is focused on the comprehensive issues of planning to prepare for events, managing recovery after an event, and mitigating future events by applying the lessons learned in the management of recovery projects. Solutient’s recovery staff includes Directors of Community Development, certified flood plain managers, construction monitors, and AICP planners. The staff diversity brings to disaster recovery challenges the necessary combination of experienced management, hands-on mitigation, and professional planning.
